Friendly Fork Luncheon

 

Join fellow Active Adults for lunch, entertainment, guest speakers, games and good conversation. Each week, lunch will be provided by The Friendly Fork: Weld County Senior Nutrition program, held in the Aspen Community Room. The cost of the meal for 60 years and older is requested at $4 and under 60 years of age at $12.

Come join Sue and pamper yourself for 30 minutes on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Sue will clip your toenails, scrub your corns and calluses and will provide a foot and ankle massage, if wanted! Registration closes at 12:00 PM the Wednesday before the scheduled appointment. 50 + Taekwondo

 

This traditional Taekwondo class is specifically for the 50+ demographic. The class will emphasize low impact and will not be a high intensity program. Within 45 minutes, elements will include tai chi in addition to the Taekwondo forms, techniques, and movements with a heavy emphasis on balance, strength, stretching, self-defense, and body movement.

Alzheimer's Research

 

For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement. During this class, you will use hands-on tools to help incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. This class is intended for those without memory loss.

Peak to Peak Fall Colors Scenic Drive

 

Leave your worries at home and join us on a drive along the beautiful peak to peak scenic byway where we will stop in Estes Park for lunch. The drive will then continue up Highway 7 for a stop at Lily Lake with an optional stroll along the lake. Enjoy the sites of Twin Sisters, Saint Malo Church and Long’s Peak while gazing at the fall leaves. Note: Some hiking. Lunch cost is on your own.

Distortions Tour

 

Owners, Ed and Marsha Edmunds, have been creating monsters for over 35 years and were recognized in the reality TV Series “Making Monsters” which aired on The Travel Channel. Their props, masks and creations have been a mainstay of the dark amusement industry since 1978 as well as unlimited experiences in the Halloween industry from animatronics, themed attractions, stage shows, haunted houses and reality TV. Vintage Aero Flying Museum Tour

 

Come join historian Andy Parks as he tours you through what many consider the most complete WWI collection in the world. The Vintage Aero Flying Museum’s collection of WWI and WWII uniforms have been collected by three generations of the Parks’ family. You will see uniforms and memorabilia of the most famous Aviators of the war as well as a World War I aircraft. Lunch will be provided at the museum and you must be able to walk up a flight of stairs to see the complete collection.
